Biography:
Learned to play golf at his father's nine-hole Himley Hall course. Baker was a consistent performer on the European Tour from the late 1980s until the early 2000s. Won his first title in stunning fashion as he beat Sir Nick Faldo in a sudden-death play-off with an eagle on the first extra hole of the 1988 Benson and Hedges International Open. Two wins in the 1993 season secured a place in The Ryder Cup side. Although Europe were defeated, Baker won three points out of a possible four.
