Dear members,
Simon’s Golf A/S has always been keen to embrace new technologies and concepts, and as such we are now starting some initial trials for robot mowers with the view of them cutting fairway height and rough height. I have spent a vast amount of time investigating the solutions available in the golf market today and have sought advice from experts in this field and visited other courses who already have this solution in place. This task will continue to progress but as a starting point I wish to see the robot capabilities onsite at Simon’s Golf.
One of the main benefits of robot mowers is that they are very light, and they are able to mow on the course in suboptimal conditions where the heavy cylinder/rotary mowers would cause damage.
On A1 we have the Big Mow unit from Bell Robotics delivered by Nellermann Machinery and two other units from Husqvarna on B9 provided by Fredensborg Skov og Have. The units will run predominantly at night and in the daytime when the loop is closed.

Please note there is a power cable running from the lake at B9 to the charging station on B9 fairway, this is marked with white stakes. There are also cables running to the charging station from the pump house on A1. The area around the chargers has been marked “GUR play prohibited” with a blue stick with a green top.
Kind regards,
Reamonn O’Neill
Golf Course Superintendent
