Dear Members,

During last week and early this week we mowed, rolled and changed holes on greens, tees and fairways where also mowed. Greens and tees have received a third application of strong iron based fertiliser. We have removed leaves, checked and adjusted sand depths and raked all bunkers. You will notice we have also spent time in the dark mornings tidying the car park and driveway, along with continuing to collect the last of the leaves in the gardens at Hotel Nybogaard.

Thank you again to all of you who have already switched to carry bags, with your help, the milder temperatures and the reduced amount of rainfall received, I have been able to extend the use of trolleys to one of the latest dates in the past 10 years.

Due to the rain we have received this week, the cooler temperatures slowing grass growth further and potential recovery, a full trolley and scooter ban will be in place from tomorrow, Friday 11th December.

On Monday 14th December we will start to remove the water from the irrigation system on the course to protect it from damage from frost, this task usually takes 3 to 4 days to complete. You can expect to see sprinklers watering around the course and air blowing out of them.

We will also on Monday remove the water from the ball machine for the same reason, we will power wash the balls from now on and place them in containers in front of the ball machine.

Kind Regards

Reamonn O’Neill
Golf Course Superintendent
