This week David and his team have progressed fantastically well under the extreme temperature conditions.
Important: Next week mixed loop of holes from Loop A and Loop B for the front 9
We have reached the point with B-Loop where the majority of the excavator works have been completed with just some top soiling work around the bunkers to be finished. In our video section you can see drone footage of the new greens complex on B6.
To help us get back on schedule with timings following the Covid-19 delays we need to keep the machine drivers moving and working constantly until the end of the project. Therefore, from Wednesday 1st July a composite course will be introduced to enable the machine drivers to build the new fairway on A5. A5, A6 & A7 will be taken out of the A-Loop and replaced with B1, B8 & B9. C-Loop will play in its usual order as the back 9.
All members will be emailed on Tuesday 30th June with a detailed explanation as to how this will take place. The DGU have assisted with rating the composite course, scorecards have been printed and will be available from the Starter House along with conversion tables so all members will be able to regulate handicaps whilst the composite course is in place.
To continue with this week’s update, shaping works on the grass pathway on left of B4 and B6 has been completed and irrigation installed.
This week we were able to mow a lot more of the newly turfed areas on C-Loop with heavy equipment at 32mm. Once this is possible, these areas will no longer be marked GUR. I held a meeting with the Sales Manager of DLF on Monday this week to discuss the issue of the small amount of turf that was not up to standard, these areas will be addressed in week 27 and any deliveries that come in future will be in refrigerated trailers. Thankfully from a turf perspective, the weather during week 27 looks much more suitable for turf laying.
For the week ahead all remaining holes on B-Loop will have top soil works completed and turf laid. Hopefully B-Loop will open fully early in week 28 at which point the course will play either BC or CB. I will do my best to ensure the course is CB on the weekends as I know this helps with the flow of golf during busy periods.
